Enrollment is on the rise for USD 251 North Lyon County.
According to the unaudited enrollment headcount presented to the USD 251 Board of Education members on Wednesday, the district saw an increase of 13 students from 332 to 345 between this year and last. Superintendent Bob Blair attributes the rise in part to open enrollment and largely to the district’s “Quality education programming” and its exemplary standing across various metrics.
While it is not a substantial increase, Blair says the uptick in enrollment will mean several positives for the district, including when it comes to state financial aid.
Blair says another area he believes could positively benefit from the uptick is the district’s strategic planning and planned facility updates, community input efforts for which have been underway across the community for the past few months.
The official headcount Other matters of note during the district’s board meeting included legislative, financial and capital outlay updates, a presentation on testing coordinators and a donation of AEDs. The USD 251 Board of Education will reconvene for its regular meeting in November.
