The Emporia State volleyball team won a tight first set before sweeping away Missouri Southern for a 26-24, 25-12, 25-21 victory Saturday at White Auditorium in Emporia. ESU survived a tight first set in which neither team had more than a four-point lead. ESU swung the match in the second forcing 12 attack errors as the Lions hit -.111 in the set. It was another nip-and-tuck set in the third but E-State ended the match on a 5-1 run to claim the sweep. Lavra Krizanic led the Lady Hornets offensively for the second-straight night with 14 kills while Delainee Dexter littered the stat sheet with five kills, 12 assists, five digs, four total blocks, and five aces. ESU (17-3, 8-1 MIAA) has won four matches in a row and will head up the Turnpike Friday, October 24 to face Washburn.
