Details are pending. So are formal charges. But there is yet another arson arrest in Emporia.
On Friday, Emporia Police officers arrested 25-year-old Seth Scott Giroux on suspicion of arson, criminal damage, criminal threat, drug possession and paraphernalia possession. Emporia Fire has referred the case to Emporia Police, and Police Capt. Ray Mattas says details haven’t been publicized because it’s not an open record at this time.
The potential case against Giroux means there are now seven arson or attempted arson cases that are under investigation, into the court process or on hold in Lyon County District Court — all since the middle of July.
