Fresh off his first career start and win, true freshman quarterback Jamison Sarver can now also claim his first-ever collegiate award. Sarver has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after engineering two fourth-quarter touchdown drives in a 31-27 comeback victory over Central Missouri on Saturday last weekend. Sarver connected on 14 of 17 passes in the second half including going 7-for-7 in the fourth quarter. He passed for two touchdowns in the game as the first true Hornet freshman to ever make his career debut starting at quarterback. He’s the first true freshman to start at the position for the Hornets since Braxton Marstall in 2014. ESU returns to action Saturday hosting #14 Northwest Missouri for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. with coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
