Most of the early work on Emporia’s Southeast Transmission waterline replacement project has taken place north of Avenue, but there have been some work south of Sixth — and the city has highlighted one such work zone happening this week.
The city anticipates some tie-in work on Neosho at Fourth and Fifth on Election Day, meaning temporary water interruptions are at least possible nearby. Traffic access will be limited during that part of the overall project.
Work on Southeast currently has limited street access on Seventh from Lincoln to Neosho, including complete intersection closures at Oak, Walnut, Washington and West. Limited street access is also in place on Neosho from Seventh to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks.
More information about city street work, closures, detours and other traffic adjustments is available online at emporiaks.gov/livemap.
