A preliminary hearing is coming later this month in a Lyon County law enforcement pursuit case.
Brandon Lee Mangus will return to Lyon County District Court on Nov. 24 after a first official court appearance this past Wednesday.
Mangus faces a felony count of flee and elude after an alleged incident Oct. 22, with an alternate count of flee and elude. Mangus also has a count of driving while suspended.
Mangus, age 38, was arrested and charged after law enforcement suspicions of driving while intoxicated led to alleged failure to comply. Emporia Police officers say the resulting pursuit covered parts of northeast and east-central Emporia before going into Lyon County north of Emporia. The Kansas Highway Patrol and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were also involved in the chase and arrest.
