The Kansas Court of Appeals is set to hear an appeal from an Emporia man convicted of child sex abuse in Sedgwick County.
John R Burton was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years as part of sentencing in September. Burton has pleaded no contest to two counts of aggravated indecent liberties in late May, following incidents in June 2023.
