Court processes are starting in a Coffey County case involving charges of illegal sexual conduct against two children.
Coffey County Attorney Wade Bowie has charged Roy Anthony Hernandez, age 46, with 22 total counts. Five rape counts have been filed, three of which involve alleged activity against a person who was between 15-17 years old when crimes allegedly took place intermittently between September 2014 and October 2015. The other two counts allege activity with a child between ages 9-10 from September 2014 to September 2015.
Sixteen counts of aggravated indecent liberties are part of the case, with all but one involving the 9-to-10-year-old between September 2013 and September 2014. The other count involves the 15-year-old for alleged activity in October 2014.
The case also includes one count of aggravated criminal sodomy against the 9-year-old for alleged activity between September 2014 and December 2014.
Hernandez had a custody hearing Wednesday and will have his first official court appearance Nov. 19.
