Area residents are encouraged to “Bet on 19” this upcoming Saturday and take part in a special fundraiser for Ed and Jane Linhart.
Ed Linhart is now into his second fight with cancer, battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, so Curt and Karen Sergeant have organized a day-long benefit event at Lebo’s Heidi Inn. Curt Sergeant says it’s been a seven-year-long battle for the Linharts, who have been generous to a lot of people and a lot of causes.
Activities will start at 10 am with a poker run. Cost is $25 a person. All kinds of vehicles are encouraged to participate. The route and stops will be announced on site.
That activity will be followed by a 3-on-3 pool tournament at 1 pm, a live and silent auction beginning at 4 pm, a hold ’em poker tournament at 5 pm and a free will donation meal featuring pulled pork sandwiches, sloppy joes, chips and drinks.
