Emporia State running back Diego Cearns and cornerback Peyton Taylor have announced via Twitter that they have entered the transfer portal. Both earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors for the Hornets in 2025. Cearns ran for 788 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025 while Taylor registered 29 tackles with 12 pass breakups. Emporia State finished the year 5-6 with a 4-5 MIAA record in 2025.
