Emporia High girls basketball returns to the court Tuesday to begin a new year. Bill Nienstedt takes control of a team that went 4-17 a year ago. This will be the second stint for Coach Nienstedt, who led the program from 2001-2013.
Coach Nienstedt will have plenty of girls on the roster.
The playstyle will look different in his second tenure.
Kinsley Hines is one of the top returners for the Lady Spartans and she wants her senior year to go well.
Maycee Davis was an All-Centennial League Second Teamer as a freshman. She is appreciative of how much Coach Nienstedt cares about them.
Both girls are enjoying the changes on the court.
The Lady Spartans open the year Tuesday, December 2 hosting Wichita North at 6 p.m. Country 101.7 will have the the broadcast of the doubleheader at 5:45 p.m.
