Some like their turkey smoked, some like it baked, but for Fire Marshal Stephen Beemer, he’s a big fan of fried turkey, according to comments on KVOE’s Morning Show Wednesday.
Beemer says frying is a “Great way to cook your turkey,” however, it can go wrong in a hurry. Beemer says frying accidents are one of the most common calls they receive during the Thanksgiving holiday and the most frequent cause is a still partially frozen bird.
Beemer says when it comes to avoiding accidents with fryers, the best thing that residents can do is follow the recommendations from manufacturers.
Beemer also says the location of your fryer is just as important as how you use it.
