Communities in Chase County came together this weekend to officially welcome in the Christmas season with a longstanding county-wide tradition, the Chase County Country Christmas.
Chase County Chamber President Toni Schneider says she believes the Country Christmas not only brings the holiday spirit to their residents, but also a sense of pride for their community.
Schneider says one of the things she believes makes the Country Christmas so great is that it is a tradition made up of traditions.
The Country Christmas began Friday with the Kids Night Before Christmas Out in Strong City, with featured activities such as the lighting of the antique caboose at the depot, followed by a free screening of the movie “Rudolph” at the 1900 Theatre. Saturday’s schedule included the arts and crafts fair in Strong City, with the bulk of activities held in Cottonwood Falls, including food, games, live music and the lighting of the historic Chase County Courthouse.
