Downtown Emporia was a festive place for the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce’s 47th annual Christmas Parade on Tuesday.
Before the parade, Victory Fellowship Pastor Mike Stubbs provided the benediction, Christmas message and invocation. And Emporia High’s Chorale and Viva Voce provided music.
The Country Christmas-themed parade was broadcast on KVOE and KVOE.com/TV, with Multimedia Design students from Flint Hills Technical College handling the production. Chamber Membership Director Rebeca Herrera says there were initially 92 entries, but seven had actually planned to be in the Emporia, Virginia, parade — so the final count was 85 entries. Award winners from Tuesday:
*Parade Marshal Award: Latin Fit
*Parade Committee Award: Mexis
*Chamber Award: CareArc
*Mayor’s Award: Hostess
