The holidays wouldn’t be the same without music, and there’s lots of live music to go around the next few days.
The Emporia Arts Council has limited seats available for Home Free’s return to the Emporia Granada Theatre on Friday night. Arts Council Director Dawn Young says it should be an exciting holiday show.
Young says Home Free, an all-vocal country group with 20 Top 10 hits to its credit, performed in Emporia six years ago.
Friday’s performance starts at 7 pm. Tickets start at $30 and are available by calling the Arts Council at 620-343-6473 or by going online to emporiaksarts.org.
The Granada will be busy Sunday afternoon for the Emporia Municipal Band’s annual Christmas concert. Director Nancy Riecker says there will be some music that hasn’t been played at the 16th annual concert.
Ricker says it can be a tough choice — or set of choices — on what to play.
The concert starts at 3 pm. It is free to attend, but a donation is requested to help the Friends of City Band.
