Eleven families will have a brighter holiday season, thanks to the annual Gift of Groceries.
A special drawing took place Friday afternoon at Troy’s Tranys. Co-owner Kandy Dall says this year’s rendition came at a time when a lot of people are financially strained.
Dall isn’t surprised this venture has staying power, now through its fourth year.
Residents could nominate people or families they felt could use a boost through $100 gift cards from Good’s Cash Saver or Country Mart. Essays were occasionally provided but not needed for the random drawing.
Fifty nominators submitted names for this year’s drawing. KVOE is reaching out to nominees so they can claim their gift cards.
