The Emporia State women’s basketball team fell 72-64 at Angelo State to wrap up the first semester in San Angelo, Texas on Saturday. E-State sprinted to a 24-15 lead after the first, but the Lady Hornets were just 2-for-14 in the second quarter and led 33-28 at the break. ASU outshot ESU 43% to 32% in the second half. Kaitlyn Sanders went off for 26 points for the Lady Hornets while Gracie Gilpin added 14. Kaylin Noonan grabbed 10 rebounds while Macey Gandee nabbed nine. ESU (7-4) returns after the Christmas break to a road trip New Year’s Day at Central Missouri. Coverage begins at 5:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
