Emporia Senior Center Director Carla Fessler is pleased with how the facility has operated through 2025.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment recently, Fessler says there were several measures of success with one foundation.
Fessler is particularly pleased with the development of different game groups, including pitch, pinochle and bunco, with interest also in bridge and mahjongg. The Senior Center continues bingo Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons. It’s also partnering with Emporia State University students for light physical fitness classes.
Meanwhile, the Senior Center’s previous marquee died this year. Thanks to an anonymous donation, the Senior Center is getting a new electronic sign with Coffelt Sign Company installing it early next year.
Residents interested in taking part or developing activities for the Senior Center can call 620-343-3160.
