Two former law enforcement officers have passed away.
Longtime Emporia Police detective Mark Senn died Jan. 5 at the age of 69. A native of Valley Falls, Senn worked for Emporia Police for nearly 30 years, retiring as a detective in 2011.
Services are taking place Monday morning at Roberts-Blue-Barnett.
Separately, former Kansas Highway Patrol trooper Dirk Haegert died Jan. 8 at the age of 65. Haegert worked in plumbing and construction before joining the Highway Patrol in 1985, spending much of his career in Emporia working the Kansas Turnpike on the overnight shift. Haegert retired in 2014.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett.
