Lyon County Commissioners have a hefty list of items up for consideration when they convene for their weekly action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners will receive four requests from Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield for approval to purchase two Kentworth dump trucks from Master Tech Truck and Equipment, totaling more than $551,000, as well as three axles for the Highway Department’s Hercules Equipment Trailer for just over $5,500. A better than $6,800 expenditure for a fuel injector kit from Hoyt’s Truck Center and the purchase of 24 grader tires from Mel’s Tire totaling $25,800 will also see consideration.
Separately, Lyon County Controller Dan Williams will have three requests, including a transfer of $90,000 from the county general fund to the tort liability fund, a payment to KCAMP for the county’s annual liability insurance premium totaling more than $594,000 and a $52,500 payment to Gilmore Bell for professional services as the county’s bond counsel.
County Appraiser Ryan Janzen will also submit a pair of requests, one to pay Postalocity/Broadstroke more than $17,300 for CVN and PPVN mailings for 2026.
Requests from Facilities Director Robbie Weiss to approve a quote of $28,907 from Thermal Comfort Air for a supervisor server upgrade and installation, an IT purchase request for 47 new PCs and miscellaneous equipment and a review of the newest version of the county employee handbook from Alicia Rumold will also come before commissioners.
One executive session for legal matters is also scheduled. The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
