The area fire danger remains high as the week begins.
The National Weather Service says Sunday will have highs in the mid-40s with winds shifting from south to northwest and gusting as high as 30 mph by afternoon.
Monday will have colder temperatures with highs in the upper 20s. Winds will be lighter, as high as 20 mph, but relative humidity levels go from around 40 percent Sunday to below 30 percent Monday.
Chase, Coffey and Osage counties remain in burn bans announced separately last week.
The rest of the week will see high temperatures in the 40s with wind gusts as high as 25 mph Tuesday. It will also be a dry week after a chance of flurries Sunday night.
