The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Nebraska teenager was hurt in a crash in southeast Chase County on Monday.
The wreck happened on the Kansas Turnpike shortly before 8:15 am near mile marker 105 southbound, between the Flint Hills Cattle Pans exit and the Matfield Green service area. Troopers say 16-year-old Tyler Halldorson of Elkhorn lost control of his car, which hit the center barrier wall.
Halldorson was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and treatment after suffering possible injuries.

Rescue crews and the Kansas Highway Patrol were dispatched to the Kansas Turnpike at mile marker 104.6 southbound, almost exactly between the Matfield Green service exit and the Flint Hills Cattle Pens exit, shortly before 8:30 am. Early indications are one vehicle and one patient are involved, with the patient taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and treatment.
