Several grants of note have been announced locally this week.
The Emporia Community Foundation has announced over $27,000 in total grants for a variety of projects:
*Emporia Child Care: $4,000 to replace playground equipment and enhance other outdoor play areas
*Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland: $5,000 for Camp Double-E improvements
*House of Morris: $6,150 for its Diverse Voices literacy program
*Southwick House: $7,000 for its capital campaign
*Radical Life: $2,500 to update six classrooms
*William Allen White Community Partnership: $2,787 to augment community engagement and educational programs
Meanwhile, House of Morrow is also benefiting from a separate $1,500 grant for Diverse Voices as announced by the Rotary Club of Emporia.
