An Indiana man was hurt after a wreck near one of the three roundabouts near Emporia western city limits.
Kansas Highway Patrol and Emporia Fire/EMS were among the responding agencies to a two-vehicle crash at the southernmost roundabout connecting Interstate 35 to US Highway 50 and the Kansas Turnpike shortly after 1:30 pm. a box truck driven by 27-year-old Shemar Rimmer of Florissant, Missouri, apparently failed to yield and hit a semi driven by 31-year-old Jimsly Saintelia of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Saintelia went to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries. Rimmer was not hurt.
It is unclear if weather and travel conditions played a role in the crash.
