A concert this weekend is raising funds for blood cancer patients — and raising awareness at the same time.
Sidney B’Hymer is a nominee for Student Visionary of the Year through Blood Cancer United and has developed a concert fundraiser at Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday evening. B’Hymer isn’t a patient, but she says she has had family members and others nearby develop cancer.
Karen B’Hymer is a proud mom, as you can imagine.
Doors open at 5:30 pm Sunday, with activities beginning at 6 pm — including music from Worship Initiative, a concessions stand, original art pieces created on demand and more. There is a suggested $10 donation.
Sidney B’Hymer will learn whether she is a Visionary by March 7. The program relies on high school students who spread the word about blood cancers and raise funds over a seven-week period.
