Emporia boys basketball claimed third at the Bluestem Classic Saturday in Manhattan as the Spartans bested Manhattan CHIEF 57-48. It took an extra week to come to a conclusion in the tournament after multiple weather delays.
The Black and Red had to overcome a 16-9 deficit after one. EHS won the second 16-11 and trailed 27-25 at half. The Spartans took the lead in the third outscoring CHIEF by 11, 43-32.
Harry Trelc and Rylan Crowell each had 13 points. Terrick Franklin added 12.
EHS improves to 13-2 and will host Topeka High on Tuesday.
