Kansas Day has passed, but the David Traylor Zoo and Emporia State University’s Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center are taking the approach of “better late than never” after winter weather the past two weekends.
Zoo Director Brenda Young says there is a long list of activities Saturday.
The weather looks good for allowing patrons to walk to the bison exhibit. Besides information about native animals and plants, there could also be some historical information as part of the event.
Young appreciates the partnership between the zoo and PAROC.
Up to 6 inches of snow on Jan. 24 led to the event being postponed.
Activities go from 10 am to noon at the Zoo Education Center. The event is free and open to the public.
