The Emporia State baseball team found another big inning on offense and smothered the Missouri-St. Louis hitters in a 10-0 run-rule victory at the Edmond First Pitch Tournament on Friday in Edmond, Okla. ESU scored in the first on a ground out before a Brady Unrein triple drove home another run in the third. ESU’s Logan Myers’ triple in the fifth highlighted a five-run fifth inning for the Hornets, E-State’s seventh time scoring at least five runs in an inning this season. The Hornets scored two more in the sixth on a pair of Triton miscues to put the game away. Colby Deaver (7-0) shutout the Tritons giving up just two hits in seven innings of work. ESU (6-0) wraps up their stay in Edmond Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. first pitch against Southeastern Oklahoma.
