Flu traffic is generally flat over the last month.
Lyon County Health Officer Dr Ladun Oyenuga says there is flu traffic across demographics at this time. Of concern with this flu variant is a stubborn symptom.
Hospitalization numbers aren’t immediately available, but Dr Oyenuga says the flu has led to hospital stays recently.
Dr Oyenuga says stats for one demographic may actually be low.
Dr Oyenuga also says there have been a few cases of COVID-19, but RSV and gastrointestinal illnesses have also been recorded.
The winter illness season can extend into April, but Dr Oyenuga says there is still a good supply of flu COVID vaccines available. She also says people should take several steps to limit illness spread, including frequent handwashing, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, proper hydration, cycling indoor air and staying home when sick.
