The menu is changing, although barbecue is still the focus at 737 West Sixth.
Billy Sims BBQ hasn’t announced a reason, but it is vacating that address after coming to Emporia in 2018. Phone calls to the business have gone unanswered.
Meanwhile, Schrockbier Old Smokehouse is moving and changing names. Schrockbier is currently located at 11 East Sixth and will simply be called The Smokehouse once the move is final. Schrockbier says it plans to use the existing drive-thru while adding buffet nights, more seats and private dining once it moves in. The tentative open date is Feb. 24.
