Cupid has made a KVOE listener very happy.
KVOE had its annual announcement to close down the annual Cupid’s Arrow contest during Friday’s Morning Show. Meredith Wagner had the correct word, “valentine,” and called KVOE almost immediately after the word was announced. Wagner received her prize later Friday at Kari’s, a 14-carat 6–7mm Freshwater Cultured Pearl set with an extender valued at $1,100.
Upon arriving at Kari’s, Wagner jokingly told KVOE News that after calling in and claiming the prize, her next call was to her husband to inform him that his Valentine’s Day shopping was done.
Wagner was dazzled by the pearl set and could not thank Kari enough for putting on the contest, saying she is so grateful for the generosity and selfless giving the local business does for the community every year.
KVOE began offering listeners a chance to claim love words Feb. 6, with love word winners receiving prizes through promotion sponsors including AKA The Sports Fan, Billy Sims BBQ, Emporia Floral, Gambino’s Pizza, Jack’s Lawn and Pool and Sweet Granada. Listeners could participate on-air, via social media or through text.
