Emporia girls wrestling claimed fourth Saturday at the Newton High School 5A Regional. The Lady Spartans have 11 girls advancing to the next level.
Kensley Medrano 120 won her bracket while Alexa Castillo secured silver at 170.
Chloe Steele (4th-100), Sienna Spaulding (6th-105), Dixie Heins (5th-110), Kynlee Maxfield (8th-115), Kensley Medrano (1st-120), Araceli Aleman (7th-135), Yaneli Carranza (4th-145), Mauriana Atkins (7th-155), Alexa Castillo (2nd-170), Ahtziri Hernandez (7th-190), and Zoey Smith (4th-235) all punched their ticket to the State Tournament.
Emporia will embark upon Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City for state on Friday, February 27. KVOE will bring you coverage of the tournament.
