Waverly boys basketball defended their home court Monday in the 1AD2 Sub-State first round topping MdCV, 41-33.
Waverly led 10‐9 after one. They then extended the lead at the half to 28 to 20. MdCV started the 3rd on an 8-0 run to tie it up at 28, but their offense went dry after that. Waverly took the lead at 36 to 30 after 3 and took the air out of the ball and held on for the victory
Dustin Foster and Alex Stice had 10 points for the Bulldogs while Dalton Lingenfelter had 21 for Marais des Cygnes Valley
Coach Tyler Williams was thankful the defense carried his team.
The Bulldogs advance to play at Lebo on Saturday. The KVOE Family of Stations will broadcast the game.
