Brackets are set for the 2026 5A State Wrestling Tournament in Park City on Friday. Emporia is sending 18 wrestlers to the tournament after qualifying during regionals.
Boy’s First Round:
Jose Vargas (285) seeded fourth and will take on Preston Portley from KC Washington.
Garrett LeBlanc (165) seeded eleventh and will take on Dane Gibson from KC Piper.
Jackson Goodman (144) will have to take on top-seeded Sawyer Jorgenson from Lansing.
Holden Timmons (138) squares off with Linkyn Turner of De Soto in the eight-nine matchup.
Bryan Cubias (132) earned the fifth seed. The freshman will see Ryan Barmann from St. James Academy.
Kolton Wyatt (113) opens with Cruz Locke of Basehor-Linwood after being placed eleventh.
Takeo Medrano (106) seeded sixteenth and faces top seeded Brodie Spencer of Pittsburg.
Girl’s First Round:
Chloe Steele (100) seeded eleventh and will open with Jolina Ladd of KC JC Harmon.
Sienna Spaulding (105) seeded tenth takes on Keila Cisper of St. Thomas Aquinas.
Dixie Heins (110) faces Giada Milner of Leavenworth in the eight-nine matchup.
Kynlee Maxfield (115) opens with top seeded Savannah Shires of Pittsburg.
Defending State Champion, Kensley Medrano (120) seeded third and takes on Lynx Evans of KC JC Harmon.
Araceli Aleman (135) faces two seed Willow Rademacher of Basehor-Linwood.
Yaneli Carranza (145) seeded eleventh and opens with Irelynn Diffley of Spring Hill.
Mauriana Atkins (155) opens with two seeded Addison Vogel of Bonner Springs.
Defending State Champion, Alexa Castillo (170) seeded fourth and is against Carleigh Spencer of St. James Academy in round one.
Ahtziri Hernandez (190) faces two seeded Brooklyn Binkley of Shawnee Heights.
