It’s the time of the year that brings great cheer to residents, no, we’re not talking about the holidays, but rather Girl Scout cookie sales time.
Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Troop Engagement Specialist Angela Cheever, a guest of KVOE’s Morning Show Monday, says springtime is peek sale season and members of Emporia’s local troop had a trial run of sorts recently to brush up on their sales skills thanks to the David Traylor Zoo who brought a black footed ferret, the theme for this year, to a recent troop gathering.
Cheever says having an opportunity like this through external partners is extremely important to develop personal skills, interests and confidence. Speaking of which, Cheever says they are currently working on fostering more partnerships to that end.
Cheever says the list of cookies will include eight different flavors.
In addition to the variety of cookie flavors, Cheever says residents will have a variety of ways in which they can purchase them, including in person and electronically, but the best way to get your hands on a box is to simply reach out to a Girl Scout or scout family.
