KSHSAA has set the State Tournament assignments for the opening round in basketball. New this year, locations for the first games were set based off proximity of the matchups.
Boys:
Lebo punched their ticket to the 1AD2 tourney for a fourth straight year and will start against Victoria at White Auditorium in Emporia. They will play Tuesday at 4 p.m. Country 101.7 FM will broadcast the game.
Girls:
Marais de Cygnes Valley enters the 1AD2 tournament as the five seed. The Trojans play at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina against Hanover at 6 p.m. MdCV returns to the final eight after missing out last season. Country 101.7 FM will broadcast the game on Wednesday.
Osage City takes on Girard in the four- five matchup in 3A. The Lady Indians play at White Auditorium in Emporia Wednesday at 8p.m. This is back-to-back appearances for Osage City.
