Reviews and updates are the main points of business for the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas Board of Directors meeting Friday.
Board members will discuss the RDA’s financial review before getting an update on the Flint Hills Economic Alliance, the developing plan to coordinate economic development efforts between the RDA, Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, Emporia Enterprises, Emporia Main Street, Visit Emporia and the city of Emporia that was announced last month.
Besides comments from Board Chair Brad Kraft and Interim President Lyle Butler, there is one executive session for unlisted reasons that could lead to action. However, this is currently not connected to the better-than-two-year search for a permanent president. Early goals with the Economic Alliance have been announced to shift that search into a president or director for the new economic development model as opposed to strictly the RDA.
The meeting starts at 7:30 am at the Trusler Business Center.
