The Lebo Wolves punched their ticket to the state semifinals Tuesday evening with a 46-40 win over Victoria in the Class 1A Division II State Tournament quarterfinals.
Victoria jumped out to an early advantage, leading 10-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Knights held onto the lead at halftime, taking a narrow 16-15 edge into the break.
Lebo began to shift momentum in the third quarter, edging ahead 32-31 by the end of the period. The Wolves continued that push in the fourth quarter, pulling away late to secure the six-point victory.
Lebo’s Head Coach Dennis Becker said his kids stepped up in the third quarter and second half.
Gerek Reber and Eli Konrade paced Lebo with 10 points each, while Nick Sander led Victoria with a game-high 15 points.
With the win, Lebo advances to its seventh all-time state championship semifinal. The Wolves will face Hanover at 8 p.m. Thursday.
