An investigation is underway after a fire damaged a garage in southeast Emporia Sunday morning.
According to a news release from the department, EFD was called to 113 Carter around 7 am for a reported detached garage fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a garage fully engulfed in flames located to the rear of the main residence.
The fire was contained to the garage and did not extend to any nearby structures and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire and damage estimates are currently pending.
