A Chase County water project is getting state funding as part of a special grant program.
Public Wholesale Water District 26 is receiving $735,000 for drinking water well improvements.
The program is also funding projects in Severy and for Wabaunsee County Rural Water District 2.
Funding is available as part of the third round of grants through the Senate Substitute for House Bill 2302 grants. Money is used for projects, loan assistance and technical assistance for smaller communities in Kansas. This round of funding had better than $19 million awarded to over projects. Over 280 applications totaling $272 million in grant requests were submitted.
