Emporia swimming took sixth at the Emporia Invite to begin the 2026 season on Thursday.
The Black and Red were led by Taryn Woydziak, who finished fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with a 30.64. She added a fifth place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:10.13. Connelly Prouse secured secured sixth in the 200 yard freestyle after a time of 2:44.33.
Coach Phil Metz was pleased with the first meet of the season.
He’s also looking forward to this team growing and getting better.
The Lady Spartans return to the pool on Tuesday at Andover Central.
