A Gridley teenager was hurt in a crash in southwest Coffey County on Wednesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened near 12th and Dobbin Road, eight miles west of Burlington, shortly before 8:30 am. Troopers say an SUV driven by 17-year-old Emma Thomsen was eastbound when a deer began crossing the road. Thomsen veered off the road to avoid the deer but hit a culvert instead.
Thomsen was wearing her seatbelt, but she suffered potentially serious injuries and was taken to Stormont-Vail Health in Topeka for treatment.
