Kansas Highway 99 north of Emporia will see road construction work begin next week.
Weather permitting, and showers and storms are possible, Monday is the official start day for a mill and overlay project from the Interstate 35 junction north and east to the Kansas Highway 170 intersection. The project should finish by late May.
In the meantime, traffic will be restricted to one lane, with a pilot car and flagger used to get vehicles through the work zone. Delays could range up to 15 minutes.
Drivers can also expect a 12-foot lane width restriction.
Pearson Construction LLC of Wichita won the project with a $2 million bid.
