A new chapter is underway at Hetlinger Developmental Services as Tammy Maley steps in as chief executive officer, bringing a passion for service and a vision for growth.
Maley, who recently joined the organization, appeared on the KVOE Morning Show on Friday, where she spoke about her transition into the position. She takes over for Jill Burton, who served as director for the past three years.
Maley says she finds deep fulfillment in helping others and describes the work as both meaningful and rewarding. She emphasized her commitment to supporting individuals served by the organization and ensuring they have opportunities to thrive.
Looking ahead, one of Maley’s primary goals for 2026 is to expand employment opportunities for clients who are eager to work. She noted that helping individuals find jobs not only builds independence but also strengthens their connection to the community.
Maley also shared that new ideas may soon take shape within the organization, possibly including new programs or opportunities at the art council and increased production at the Hetlinger greenhouse. Both programs play a key role in providing creative and vocational opportunities for clients.
In the near future, Hetlinger Developmental Services is preparing for its annual plant and art sale, set for early May. The event will showcase artwork created by clients, along with plants grown in the organization’s greenhouse, highlighting the talents and hard work of those it serves.
