Emporia baseball used crooked numbers in both first innings to sweep Wichita South Friday at Soden’s Grove.
EHS erupted for 14 runs to begin game one in a 16-0 victory.
Micah Gray had three RBI’s and scored three times. Oliver Kline hit a triple, scored twice, and drove in two.
Luke Marshall earned the win with five strikeouts in two innings.
Game two saw the Spartans push across 13 runs in the opening inning as they won 15-1.
Gray drove in three to lead the attack. Caydrick Crouch had two hits with two runs batted in.
Jackson Meinke picked up the win.
Coach Anthony Markowitz credited aggressive hitting for the big first frames.
Emporia improves to 3-1 and travels to Wichita West on Friday, April 3.
