Radical Life in Emporia reached a big milestone this month as the organization celebrated its fifth anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the nonprofit will host a free hotdog dinner Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m., along with tours of its new location at 528 Sylvan Street.
The celebration comes shortly after Radical Life relocated to a larger facility near the start of the year. Speaking on Monday’s KVOE Morning Show, team members Sydney Shryock, Lindsay Smith, and Lincoln Smith said the expanded space is already making a difference.
Shryock noted the move allows the organization to serve more families and broaden its impact across Lyon County.
Radical Life focuses on strengthening families and preventing foster care placements by addressing root causes of poverty. The group works to create pathways for community members, businesses, churches, civic groups, and individuals to support at-risk families through faith, love, and integrity.
In addition to special events, Radical Life hosts weekly programming that includes a free dinner and classes every Monday evening. Shryock said the class offerings rotate regularly to meet the evolving needs of participants.
Community members are invited to stop by Tuesday’s event to see the new facility and enjoy free hotdogs, chips, and water while learning more about the organization’s mission.
