Emporia State hosted day two of the ESU Midwest Classic on Friday at Welch Stadium. Stella Agbokpa set a new Lady Hornet record winning the women’s 100m dash with a time of 11.58. Ezekiel Seamster set a meet record with a 10.27 to win the men’s 100m dash with Israel Domeh finishing second. Agbokpa later pulled off the double winning the 200m dash with teammate Barbara Bentum finishing second. Domeh and Seamster swapped places in the 200m final with Domeh taking first place with a time of 21.10. Emmanuel Dukpe was second in the men’s 400m dash while Isabella Davie won the women’s 800m run. Max Neely took the men’s pole vault title while Alexia Lewis was third in the women’s long jump. Connor Deters won the men’s shotput with a throw of 57 ft.-8 1/4 in. Madison Vermetten finished third in the women’s discus was Deters was the runner-up in the men’s event. ESU’s Lou Dumas couldn’t hold onto her day one lead and finished second in the women’s heptathlon. Emporia State heads to the Butler Grizzly Gold Invite beginning Friday.
