As usual, a lot of area residents flocked to Allen on Saturday to enjoy the North Lyon County Youth Association’s annual fundraising fish fry and silent auction.
Turnout was strong from start to finish, bringing gratitude to organizers like spokesperson and Board President Kiley DeDonder.
DeDonder says there is a constant need — and constant high demand — for quality childcare in a setting such as the one NLC Youth Association provides.
DeDonder says the former Allen School building provides another big service to the area as a community hub.
Upcoming projects include a possible renovation of the kitchen space as well as ongoing maintenance. DeDonder says there is a possibility of expanding the age range for children to use the childcare facility.
