The Friends of the Emporia Public Library have the annual Spring Book Sale beginning this weekend, and there is a change from years past.
The event will be shorter, according to longtime spokesperson Dee Schwinn.
The structure of the event does not change, meaning Friends members get first dibs on the books and other materials for sale from 4-6 pm Friday. Bag sales are still in place Monday ($10 per bag) and Tuesday ($3 a bag). And the focus doesn’t change, according to Board President Ellen Klotz.
The sale will be at the Library Annex, 618 Mechanic. Public hours are 9 am to 5 pm Saturday, 1-5 pm Sunday and 9 am to 6 pm both Monday and Tuesday. Residents who aren’t Friends members but would like to join the group can buy memberships at the door.
