The purveyors of Blind Fox BBQ out of Kansas City are understandably quite pleased they won the Smoke in the Spring grand champion top honors this past weekend.
In fact, Joe Ricklefs says —
Adam Burch says things went extremely well during the weekend.
Both Ricklefs and Burch say consistency is the key to good barbecue, competition or otherwise. And he says it’s important to know your product as a contestant.
With the win, Blind Fox now has a spot in the $1 million BBQ World Cup.
Slap’s BBQ out of Kansas City, Kansas, was second, followed by Triple H BBQ. Over 100 teams participated — an event record. Ricklefs says Blind Fox has been competing for three years, and the Smoke in the Spring field was stacked with quality competition this year.
Ricklefs and Burch also thanked Osage City and event organizer Corey Linton for putting on a quality event for both the competitors and the general public.
